Thomas Chatterton writes a C18 version of pseudo-medieval English, layering obscurity on obscurity. The poem as laid out on the page looks intimidating, with too many consonants to be intelligible. Two suggestions:
1. Print it out two pages/sheet instead of four.
2. Read it out loud.
All those extra y's and g's actually turn into recognizable words.

Seriously, this works!
I think reading it alound helps because it helps make the language more understandable. As mentioned in class the literature of this time period was often meant to be read aloud since the majority of the population was illiterate. I think that this method helps and printing it on multiple pages also helps it seem less intimidating.
